How to approach shipping as an expense when your business is built around a monthly subscription box?

So we have been for a little while now experimenting with a "monthly subscription box" type of deal.

There is however .. One issue. It won't be anything super-fancy, nor particularly expensive. We have been thinking of shipping as a factor. It seems that shipping, even small boxes that doesn't weigh a whole lot, will excede the price of the content itself.
