Alright so I'm not sure if this is the place for this, but I have a small retail business. Apparently for the last week or so, someone or some robocall company has been using our phone number to call hundreds of people offering god knows what kind of scam. (Apparently the official term for this behavior is called "spoofing"…)
We field dozens of calls per day from people saying we just called them when in fact nobody from our location called anyone.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Does this stuff just stop eventually? I've filed complaints with the FCC, FTC, local authorities, Comcast, basically anyone who will take a complaint on the matter. I would like to just not answer our phone, but our business needs to field phone calls from real customers so that's not realistic. I'd also like to not have to change our number because that would confuse our long-time customers but it seems like that may be my only option pretty soon.
